Egypt was governed by a single man, a pharaoh. People believed that he was more than just a man, however, they thought he was half human and half god, therefore he got all custody of the land and people. Egypt was a theocracy, meaning a god or deity is recognized as the supreme court leader.
The people had no say in their government and accepted this because it was backed up by their religion. This mingling of religion and government is possibly what lead to its power and centralization during its high points. Many people served as peasants, while others served as priests and holy men.
The Story of King Tut...
King Tutankhamen inherited the throne at the age of 9 or 10 years old. After being throned he married his half sister, Ankhesenpaaten, they had two daughters but they were both stillborn, one at 5 or 6 months and the other at 9 months. Though Tut only lived to the age of 19, he is one of the most renown kings of ancient Egypt. Even though King Tut's death can not be proved, most studies point towards a blow to the head or a severely infected broken leg.
